Millar Pressure Control Units PCU 2000 Pressure Control Unit And TC-510.

 

The PCU-2000 Pressure Control unit is a two-channel, patient-isolated, mains powered amplifier/interface unit for connecting one or two Millar Mikro-Tip catheters to a MDD approved pressure monitor and data acquisition system. Each channel has an electrically isolated input for patient safety. The analogue output signal level of 1V/100 mmHg is compatible with most pressure monitors and data acquisition systems including AD Instruments PowerLab.

The PCU-2000 provides electrically isolated bridge excitation and signal amplification for each channel as well as separate balance, or zero, controls. Push button switches provide calibration signals equivalent to 0, 25, 100 and 125 mmHg on each channel. A Standby/Transducer switch allows the operator to reset zero and recalibrate during a procedure with the transducer in place in the subject.

LED bar graphs visually confirm transducer functionality. Pressure input connectors are colour-coded Redel style, while pressure output connectors are 1/4-inch phone plug style. Pressure output cables are sold separately.

Mikro-Tip Catheter Pressure Interface Cables

Mikro-Tip Pressure Catheters are provided with either Viking (4-pin) or Millar Low Profile (4-pin) connectors depending on the model purchased.

Catheter models with Viking connectors may connect directly to the Pressure Control Units. Connecting the catheter with a Viking connector directly to the control unit limits access to the subject or patient.

It is recommended that an interface cable (TEC-10C) be used between the catheter and control unit. All catheters with low profile pressure connectors require an appropriate interface cable (TEC-10D) to the control unit. Each pressure channel requires a separate interface cable and control unit.

TC-510 Passive Pressure Control Unit

TC-510The TC-510 Pressure Control Unit is a passive interface between the Millar Mikro-Tip catheter pressure transducer and strain gauge pressure monitors which supply bridge excitation voltage and have balance and calibration controls for full-bridge strain gauge pressure transducers.

The TC-510 has an internal calibration circuit to provide an electrical zero as well as a 100 mmHg calibration signal. The output connector is a standard 9-pin sub-D. A separate monitor interface cable is required.
