One
of the smallest ECG devices in the world is the
E-Lite, a computer-based 12 channel resting ECG
by Meditech. It combines a quick way to record
resting ECGs needed in everyday practice, with
easy storage and retrieval and very low running
costs.

6.92 Last updated 12/04/07
Connection to desktop or portable computers is a
simple task, as there is no need for any special
accessory or internal modification on the
computer. The E-Lite can simply be connected
with its opto-electronic interface to any
standard serial port, using its long optical
cable. If a serial port is not available we can
supply a serial to USB converter.
High
quality technical solutions ensure that all
those useful features will work on clear,
point-sharp ECG recordings. Over voltage-protection
is built in the device. The data access control
functions ensure that all recorded data remains
confidential. Patient ECG files can be easily
emailed.
In
an independent review the U.K Government Medical
Devices Agency approached a number of existing
Elite users for comments on the system. Users
found the software easy to use, fast and much
more flexible than old fashioned paper based
systems. Doctors that had networked the Elite
software creating a "paperless" ECG management
system saved a lot of staff time when retrieving
and filing ECG's. There were no reported
problems concerning either the software or
hardware and users found the level of after
sales support and service P.M.S (Instruments)
Ltd very good. A full transcript of the report
is available.

With version
6.50 or higher of the E-Lite software,
you can link directly to a patient’s ECG
file in popular clinical data systems,
such as Torex, EMIS and Vision.
When a patient’s ECG is selected
from one of these programs their ECG is
automatically opened in the E-Lite
software, without the need to search or
open the file.
This retains the full native
functionality of E-Lite unlike other
systems, which merely create a
‘graphical picture’ of a patient’s ECG.

Key Features:-
- Comparisons
of up to three different ECG recordings on
one screen
- Average
cycles and parameter tables
- Three, six
or twelve channel display
- A wide range
of sensitivity and speed settings with
digital filters
- Electronic
ECG-ruler
- Automatic
interpretation with manually (re)adjustable
key points
- The Elite
multi site licence mean it can be easily
networked for true paperless ECG recording.
- Very long
battery life from 2 AA batteries.
