UA-789XL Large Arm
42-60cm Digital BP Monitor.
It is well documented and confirmed by bodies
like the British Hypertension Society that using
the correct size cuff when recording blood
pressure is vitally important to ensure
measurement accuracy and consistency.
A cuff that is too large will produce a reading
that is lower than the correct blood pressure; a
cuff that is too small gives a measurement that
is higher.
This can have an important impact on patient
treatment profiles especially if they are
borderline hypertensive or diabetic. Traditionally
“large” cuffs for use with automatic digital
blood pressure monitors have measured up to an
arm circumference of 42cm.
With literally a growing population who may have
larger arms than this, taking an accurate blood
pressure using an automatic blood pressure
monitor has been difficult. For
some time we have been getting requests from
customers using the A&D Digital Blood Pressure
Monitors we distribute, for a larger cuff. There
were several technical issues to overcome but
A&D’s engineers have managed to overcome these
as a response to customer feedback provided by
PMS (Instruments) Ltd and have introduced the
new UA-789XL Extra Large Cuff Monitor.
The UA-789XL features the same accuracy as
other monitors in the A&D range with the
advantage that it is sold with an Extra Large,
42-60cm arm circumference cuff which is designed
solely for use with this monitor.
It can be used
with the standard large cuff as well and looks
certain to prove popular with GP surgeries and
Hospitals, as well as for specialist bariatric
use.
With its large 60 reading memory with time and
date recall it can be loaned to at risk patients
to monitor their blood pressure at home, or
where 24 hour monitoring cannot be used. The
Monitor has an enhanced high capacity pump,
which rapidly inflates the larger volume cuff,
in a matter of seconds.
In common with other A&D monitors, it
includes popular features such as an Irregular
Heartbeat Indicator, World Health Organisation
(WHO) classification indicator and a large 60
reading memory.
